How to create your dream wall-to-wall bed, step by step

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Measure your bedroom:
    Start by measuring the length and width of your bedroom to determine the maximum space available for your wall-to-wall bed.
  2. Decide on your ideal bed size:
    Consider how much of the room you want the bed to take up, whether you need space for bedside tables and how much space you want around the bed.
  3. Consider standard box mattress sizes:
    Review the available standard box mattress sizes (75×200 cm, 80×200 cm, 90×200 cm, 120×200 cm, 140×200 cm, 150×200 cm, 160×200 cm and 180×200 cm, plus 200 cm, 210 cm and 220 cm widths in lengths of 200 cm, 210 cm and 220 cm). Work out which mattress combination will make the best possible use of your available space.
  4. Order a standard or made-to-measure FamBed bed system:
    FamBed offers bed systems made to measure in sizes up to 480×220 cm. Consider whether you need a bespoke size or whether one of the standard sizes meets your needs. Standard sizes cost less than made-to-measure options.
  5. Buy any additional mattresses needed to form your bed base
    We usually recommend buying box mattresses or beds for the base from JYSK or IKEA, as these generally offer the best value for money. Alternatively, you can use spare beds from a guest room, second-hand beds or something similar.
  6. Installation:
    When your FamBed bed system arrives, follow the instructions provided to assemble and install your new wall-to-wall bed.
