FamBed’s design is modular. This means that you are free to add spaces to the bed if the family grows, or move modules as the children move to their own rooms. It is both a sustainable and economically sensible solution.
It works quite simply in that you can just remove the detachable (and washable) cover from the bed, and take out one or more of the modules (bed frame with legs + mattress), after which you then have 2 beds. For these beds, you only need legs, mattress topper and cover, which you can buy here in the shop, or in most regular bed stores.

You are a family of 2 adults and a small child, who buy a 270 cm Family Bed and sleep comfortably in it for as long as necessary. A 270 x 200 cm Family Bed consists of 3 pieces of 90 cm bed bases (bed frame + mattress), and when the child is old enough to move to their own room, you can separately order legs, mattress topper and cover that fit your new adult bed at 180 x 200 cm and your new child’s bed at 90 x 200 cm respectively. These can be purchased both here in the shop, in most well-stocked bed stores, or the existing ones can be altered by a tailor, or if you are a bit handy yourself.
Reversible mattresses
FamBed mattresses are designed with a unique reversible design, featuring both a medium and a firm comfort side. This means all family members can get exactly the comfort they want (except for very soft comfort, which is not only discouraged by us but also by most sleep experts as well as the official health authority guidelines for co-sleeping).

- A DIY Family Bed system to extend your existing bed. Assemble everything you need to expand your existing bed into a large Family Bed. This can include:
- Box mattress (pocket springs with integrated frame),
- Height-adjustable bed legs (to raise the box mattress to the height of your existing bed)
- Full-width mattress topper without seams
- Full-width fitted sheet without seams
- Full-size bed valance (so your assembled bed appears as one complete piece of furniture).
